DP Solutions was started by myself in 2007 after having worked for over a decade on various enterprise-grade environments in technology driven companies, large multi-nationals and financial institutions. The expierenced gained over the years administring all mayor platforms, at first desktop oriented with MS Windows-based technologies, the focus soon changed to UNIX (both Solaris and AiX) and storage as environments grew.
As I have always embraced new technologies and always was eager to learn, I have always picked up new challenges and was able to advance in my job by acquiring a solid technological background in various domains using various technologies and Tier-1 vendors with a strong focus on high-availability, data protectionand provisioning, data backup and high-end enterprise solutions.
In 2007 I decided to take my faith in my own hands by starting DP Solutions, opening a whole new world of opportunities allowing to work in new and challenging environments.
From 2007 to 2008 DP Solutions had the pleasure to deliver its services as a Storage Engineer to a mayor financial institution to form part of the storage team in place. Our mission was to manage the storage platform, data backups and SAN in a 5000+ hosts multi-site environment using EMC DMX-3 storage, Tivoli Storage Manager and Brocade SAN switches.
From 2008 onwards DP Solutions delivered its services as a Storage Architect to a smaller financial institution which has known an explosive growth both in bussiness as in infrastructure from that time on. Since the IT teams were very small to manage this growing environment, this has proven to be a very challenging mission allowing to work on a variety of platforms (Windows/VMWare ESX/Solaris/AiX/Linux/Oracle/SAP/Informix) and solutions using Tivoli Storage Manager, mid-range and high-end storage solutions from both Hitachi Data Systems and HP. Also strategic architecture designs were implemented with a strong focus to the future by redesigning the existing backup infrastructure using a 10Gbit back-end and disk-based deduplicating NAS's.
